August 21, 1995 was the the day my life changed forever.  My first day at Sulphur Springs Veterinary Clinic, I started cleaning kennels and pretty soon I was assistng the doctors, in the exam rooms and in surgery. I have been trained by Dr. Lay and Dr. Trowbridge in all aspects of patient care. I now assist Dr. Lay in surgery everyday.  I am amazed at what he is able to do in his orthopedic surgeries and endoscopic exams.

I love my job more every passing day. I get to work for the best veterinary clinic, doctors and team of technicians in this area.  Everyday is a new experience! I love meeting all the clients and their pets.  I appriciate our clients for allowing me to be apart of their pets lives all these years.

I can remember turning 16 and trying to get a job working at my home town vet clinic, I tried many times after graduation to get on at any veterinary clinic.  It wasn't until I was 25 did I finally get my opportunity. I started out as a Kennel Technician, then went on to be a Veterinarian Technician, to currently being the Office Manager.

I have been here 5 years now, my knowledge and experiences has grown tremendously.  I enjoy visiting with our clients and hear their stories about what their pets have done or are doing now.  I am truely thankful for what Dr. Lay and Dr. Trowbridge have given me and glad to be apart of this veterinary clinic.

Helping animals has always been an important part of my life.  I can remember a Christmas morning when I was 8 years old, opening a nurses playset.  I couldn't wait to get outside and give all of my pets their "check-ups".  I've been at the Sulphur Srpings Veterinary Clinic for almost 3 years.  What I love most about this job i that everyday is different.  I'm always learning something new from Dr. Lay, Dr. Trowbridge and from our clients as well.

My husband and our 4 kids also share my love of animals.  Together, we have 4 dogs, 3 cats, 2 guinuea pigs, 2 hedgehogs, chinchilla and a bearded dragon.

My whole life I have wanted to work with animals.  I have a huge soft heart for all animals, especially cats.  My goal is to one day work on a reservation for big cats or even wolves.

The reason I took this job was for the love I have for animals.  At first I didn't know if i could work at a veterinary clinic, because I was afraid that I wouldn't be able to handle all the tasks required.  They worked with me and now it doesn't seem so hard.  I have gained much more experience and knowledge than I thought I ever could.  As I said I love this job and the animals that I take care of on a daily basis.  The relationships I've gained here with the animals and my fellow co-workers are relationships that I wouldnt give up for the world.

As a child, I loved pretending to live in a rainforest amongst the animals(aka stuffed animals), in my playroom.  I have always been an animal lover, and when I began working at Sulphur Springs Veterinary Clinic it was like a dream came true.

The experiences I have learned here, I will use for life.  Dr. Lay and Dr. Trowbridge are amazing mentors and awesome doctors.  I will always remember my years at Sulphur Springs Veterinary Clinic.
