    Dr. Dan Hammond

I'm a native Missourian but have practiced solely in Texas since graduation. Jokingly I always say that "I got here as quick as I could."  I love my job because no two days are the same but my greatest satisfaction comes from building relationships and strengthening the bonds between people and their pets.

I am active in my local church and outside work I enjoy woodworking, ranching and spending time outdoors.  I am married to the love of my life Rhonda and we have 4 children.

I received my Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Texas A&M in 1979.  After graduation I began practicing at Sulphur Springs Veterinary Clinic with Dr. Bill Hurley and have been here since.

My goal is to make a difference in people's lives and their pets.  I strive to provide quality medical care to my patients and appreciate the trust their owners have placed in me.

I can remember turning 16 and trying to get a job working at my home town vet clinic, I tried many times after graduation to get on at any veterinary clinic.  It wasn't until I was 25 did I finally get my opportunity.

My knowledge and experience has grown tremendously.  I enjoy visiting with our clients and hear their stories about what their pets have done or are doing now.  I am truly thankful to be apart of this veterinary clinic.

  • Kara Wagner

Helping animals has always been an important part of my life.  I can remember a Christmas morning when I was 8 years old, opening a nurses playset.  I couldn't wait to get outside and give all of my pets their "check-ups".  I've been at the Sulphur Springs Veterinary Clinic since 2009.  What I love most about this job is that everyday is different.  I'm always learning something new.

My husband and our 4 kids also share my love of animals.  Together, we have 4 dogs, 3 cats , 2 hedgehogs, chinchilla and a bearded dragon.
